Sedation Dentistry in Roswell, GA

Enjoy a more relaxed dental experience

If you suffer from dental anxiety or severe gag reflex, we can help. Sedation dentistry or “sleep dentistry” will help you feel more comfortable in the dentist chair. Our sedation experts will put you into a relaxed state of conscious sedation for your entire dental experience. Although you’ll be awake and able to communicate freely, you’ll be free from anxiety and discomfort.

Our dentists offer several different sedation methods depending on your needs. So don’t let anxiety keep you from getting the necessary dental care. Ask our licensed experts how to take the stress out of your dental visit.

Oral Sedation

With oral sedation, you will be given a mild narcotic in either pill or liquid form for rapid absorption. This method will put you into a relaxed state for a relatively short duration. You’ll be free from anxiety for your procedure, but the effects should wear off soon afterward. Our staff will closely monitor your vital signs the entire time. Please make sure you have an adult present to accompany you home.

IV Sedation

For patients who suffer from dental anxiety or severe gag reflex, we can provide a stress free visit by administering IV sedation. Using either a single or combination medication, our specially trained and licensed sedation dentist will keep you in a fully relaxed, but completely conscious state for your entire procedure. Although you’ll be free from anxiety, you will still be awake and able to communicate with our staff. The IV allows the dentist to instantaneously control and adjust the medication level to ensure the proper dosage. Please bring an adult along to accompany you safely home.

N2O Sedation

Feeling anxious about your dental visit? Don’t let your discomfort keep you from getting regular dental care. Our licensed sedation dentists can administer nitrous oxide (N2O), commonly referred to as laughing gas, to help your relax. A mask will be placed over your nose, and you will be instructed to breathe normally. The gas can be easily controlled by the dentist to ensure you get just the right amount of sedation, and remain relaxed throughout your procedure. Unlike other forms of sedation, N2O quickly wears off. Most patients are able to drive home once the procedure is complete.
