If crooked teeth or unwanted spaces cause you to hide your smile from the world, having a mouth full of metal probably doesn’t appeal to you either. Fortunately, getting metal braces isn’t the only solution; with Invisalign plastic aligner trays, […]
Early orthodontic treatment can greatly boost a child’s self-esteem. Aside from assuring a more beautiful smile, the correct positioning of teeth is essential to overall good health.
In addition to straightening crooked teeth, an orthodontist corrects bite problems and carefully guides new teeth for proper positioning. The straightened teeth are not only easier to clean, they also leave a child less susceptible to gum disease, tooth decay, and other problems.
Our Orthodontic Specialists
Our orthodontic specialists have completed the additional schooling and training required for an orthodontics degree, enabling them to provide all the services your child may require.
Our full range of orthodontic services ensures that your child receives a treatment plan personalized to her or his needs. These services include a variety of treatments and appliances to move teeth into their proper positioning:
Braces not only improve your child’s smile, they also improve oral health by correcting the improper alignment of teeth. Left uncontrolled, improper alignment can lead to gum disease, early tooth loss, and potential facial pain. Braces are available in an array of styles, and are typically worn for 18 to 36 months.
Retainers are orthodontic appliances that follow the removal of braces to “retain” the newly corrected positions of the teeth. Retainers can be either fixed or removable. In most cases, they are worn for up to 18 months.
Invisalign® offers a more modern approach to straightening teeth. A series of custom-made aligners, made of smooth and virtually invisible clear plastic, are individually created for each patient. The aligner trays are worn over the teeth, and are usually barely visible to others.
Invisalign® aligners gradually and gently shift teeth into place, based on the exact movements determined by the orthodontist. There’s no need for metal brackets or wires that need tightening. Patients simply put in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks until treatment is completed. While most of our offices offer Invisalign® services, it’s best to verify this before scheduling an appointment.
